Colosafe Test Kit

Screening for colorectal cancer that starts at home, with a doctor to guide your next step

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers in Singapore, and it’s highly treatable when found early. But many people put off screening because a colonoscopy means time off, bowel prep, and an invasive procedure.

Colosafe is a non-invasive first step. You collect a small stool sample at home, no bowel preparation needed, and a doctor discusses your result with you.

Colosafe looks for a marker in the syndecan-2 gene in your stool. A doctor uses your result to help decide whether you should go on to a colonoscopy. It does not by itself replace colonoscopy, diagnose or rule out colorectal cancer.

Who Is This Test For?

Colosafe is designed for adults in Singapore who are looking for an at-home, non-invasive stool DNA screening option and want professional support as part of the process. It may suit you if you prefer to collect your sample at home or want to discuss screening because of your family history or other risk factors. Screening choices depend on your age, symptoms and personal and family history, so speak with a qualified healthcare professional about what is right for you.2

How it works

  1. Get started

Activate your kit in the Camtech Health app and complete a short health assessment. A healthcare professional reviews it before your kit is sent.

  2. Collect your sample at home

Follow the instructions in your kit. Collect Monday to Wednesday only, so your sample can reach our lab before the weekend.

  3. Send it back the same day

Bring it to the clinic or hand it to the courier on the day you collect it, according to instructions from your care provider or our Camtech Health app.

  4. Our partner laboratory analyses your sample once it is received.

  5. Get your results and speak with a doctor

Results are usually ready about 1-2 weeks after the lab receives the sample.

What your result means

  • A normal result lowers the likelihood of colorectal cancer but cannot rule out cancer, polyps, or other bowel conditions. Keep to your recommended screening schedule.
  • An abnormal result does not mean you have cancer. Your doctor will discuss going on to a colonoscopy, which remains the gold standard for diagnosis.

If you have blood in your stool, a persistent change in bowel habits, or another concerning symptom, see a doctor now rather than waiting for a screening test.

What the published study found

In a study of 1,110 participants at three hospitals in China, Colosafe detected colorectal cancer in 83.8% of participants who had it, and 87.0% of Stage I–II cases. Among participants without colorectal cancer or advanced adenoma (a higher-risk polyp), 98.0% had a negative result.
