IDEAL Fitness & Nutrition DNA Test
Discover What Your DNA May Reveal About the Way You Train and Fuel Your Body
Your fitness journey is personal. How you respond to exercise, manage your weight and process nutrients is shaped by many factors, including your DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). At Camtech Health, our IDEAL Fitness & Nutrition DNA Test explores 35 genetic traits across fitness, metabolism, body type, vitamin absorption and nutrient intake from a simple saliva sample collected at home. It gives you another layer of information to consider alongside your goals, lifestyle and professional advice, rather than telling you exactly what to eat or how to train. Results are typically delivered in a personalised report around three weeks after we receive your sample.

Understand What Your DNA Can Tell You About Fitness and Nutrition
Two people can follow the same programme or eat the same way and still get different results. Training, diet, sleep, recovery, age, environment and consistency all matter, and genetics may contribute to those individual differences too.3,4
Your report explores 35 traits across two areas:
- Fitness & body composition — endurance potential, lean body mass potential, body type, metabolism and weight-loss difficulty. This can provide useful context when you think about your training approach, goals and recovery.
- Nutrition & nutrient-related traits — vitamin absorption, nutrient intake, metabolism, and responses to selected foods and nutrients. These are genetic tendencies, not measurements of what is currently in your body, and may be helpful when you review your everyday eating or discuss nutrition with a professional.
The science connecting genetics to fitness and nutrition is real but still maturing, your DNA is one meaningful influence among many, not a formula that predicts your results.3,4 That is why your report is designed as insight to explore alongside your goals and habits, not as a set of instructions to follow.
Who Is This Test For?
You do not need to be an athlete. This test may suit any adult who wants to understand their body better — whether you are starting out, training regularly, reviewing your nutrition, or curious about how genetics may relate to metabolism, body composition or nutrient handling. It is also a useful starting point for more personalised questions with a coach, dietitian or healthcare professional.

Your Results, and How to Use Them
Your report describes genetic predispositions or tendencies — not certainties. That distinction matters:
- A fitness tendency — for example, endurance potential — does not mean you will automatically excel at or struggle with a type of exercise. Training history, technique, consistency, recovery and nutrition still matter.
- A nutrition tendency — tells you something about how certain nutrients may be processed, not your current vitamin or mineral levels. A genetic tendency is different from a blood test showing a deficiency.
- A weight or metabolism tendency — is additional information, not a prediction. Body weight and composition are influenced by many interacting biological, behavioural and environmental factors.
Look at your results alongside what you already know about yourself — your fitness level, goals, diet, sleep, lifestyle and past experiences — to identify areas worth exploring further. For significant dietary changes, supplements, persistent symptoms or health concerns, speak with a qualified healthcare professional or dietitian rather than acting on a genetic result alone.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a medical diagnostic test?
No. It is a genetic wellness test covering selected fitness and nutrition traits. It does not diagnose medical conditions or determine disease risk.
Can it tell me the best workout or exactly what to eat?
No. It offers insight into inherited tendencies to consider alongside your goals and experience, not a prescribed exercise programme or diet.
Can it identify a vitamin deficiency?
No. It analyses traits related to nutrient processing; it does not measure the levels currently in your body. A suspected deficiency needs proper clinical testing.
Should I take supplements based on my results?
Not on a genetic result alone. If your report raises a question about a nutrient, discuss it with a doctor or dietitian.
Is it painful?
No, it is a saliva sample you collect at home.
Can my results change over time?
The DNA variants do not normally change, but scientific understanding of how they are interpreted continues to develop.
When should I speak with a healthcare professional?
If you have symptoms, an existing condition, an injury, concerns about nutrition or weight, or you are considering significant changes to diet, supplements or exercise.

Medical Disclaimer
The IDEAL Fitness & Nutrition DNA Test is a non-diagnostic genetic wellness test providing general lifestyle and wellness information based on selected genetic variants. It reports genetic associations and predispositions; a predisposition does not mean an outcome will occur, and results should always be considered alongside lifestyle, diet, physical activity, age, environment and overall health.
The test is not intended to assess disease risk, diagnose a disease or nutrient deficiency, determine medical fitness to exercise, or monitor, manage, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition.1,2 It does not directly measure vitamin or mineral levels, body composition, fitness performance, injury status, or your response to a particular diet or exercise programme.
Evidence for using genetic information to personalise fitness and nutrition continues to develop, and research has not consistently shown improved outcomes from genetically personalised recommendations.3,4 Do not use your results alone to make significant changes to medication, supplements, diet, treatment or exercise. If you have symptoms, an existing condition, an injury, or results that concern you, speak with a qualified healthcare professional. This test does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
