How to Choose the Right Test
Choosing a health test starts with the question you want answered. Some Camtech Health tests are built for an immediate decision, such as checking common respiratory infections when you feel unwell. Others support routine screening, family planning, or longer-term lifestyle reflection. They are not interchangeable, and a home test should never delay medical care when your symptoms are concerning.

“I feel unwell now. Could it be COVID-19 or flu?”
Choose the Covid-19 & Flu A/B Test Kit for a rapid home check covering COVID-19, Influenza A and Influenza B from one nasal swab. Results are available within 15 minutes.
Use the test exactly as the Instructions for Use describe. A negative result does not rule out every cause of respiratory symptoms and does not replace medical advice. Several factors can affect the accuracy of an antigen rapid self-test.1 If your symptoms are severe, persistent, worsening, or you are at higher risk, contact a doctor promptly.
“My symptoms could be something other than COVID-19 or flu”
Choose the Covid 5-in-1 Test when cough, fever, a sore throat or tiredness could be linked to more than one respiratory infection. It checks a single nasal swab for antigens associated with COVID-19, RSV, adenovirus, Influenza A and Influenza B, and results are available in about 15 minutes.
The two respiratory kits differ only in coverage. The 3-in-1 kit answers “COVID-19 or flu?” and comes as a five-kit box for repeat testing. The 5-in-1 kit adds RSV and adenovirus, which is useful when a household includes young children or older adults. Both use the same at-home nasal swab method, and neither identifies every possible cause of respiratory symptoms.
“I am due for cervical screening, but I would rather collect the sample at home”
Choose the HPV Test Kit if you are in Singapore, are eligible for HPV-based screening, and do not have symptoms that need a clinical examination. It screens for 14 high-risk HPV types from a self-collected vaginal swab, analysed in an accredited Singapore laboratory using the BD Onclarity HPV Assay. It individually identifies HPV 16, 18, 31, 45, 51 and 52, and reports the remaining types in groups. Results are typically available within 2 to 5 days after the laboratory receives your sample.
Singapore's HealthHub guidance recommends a Pap test for women aged 25 to 29 who have ever had sex, and an HPV test for women aged 30 and above who have ever had sex.2 A home HPV screen is not a diagnosis of cervical cancer.3 If you have abnormal bleeding, bleeding after sex, pelvic pain, unusual discharge, or other concerning symptoms, arrange a medical review rather than relying on a home screening kit.
“I want to screen for colorectal cancer at home”
Choose the Colosafe test for a non-invasive stool DNA screening option. It looks for methylated SDC2 DNA, a biomarker associated with colorectal cancer, and results are typically available 10 to 14 days after you return your sample.
Colosafe is a screening test, not a diagnosis.4 If you have blood in your stool, a persistent change in bowel habits, unexplained weight loss, abdominal pain, or a strong personal or family history, speak with a healthcare professional about the most appropriate pathway. Singapore's Healthier SG Screening programme offers the Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) to eligible citizens, so it is worth comparing the available screening routes before you order.5
“We are trying to conceive and want to find the fertile window”
Choose the Ovulation Test Kit to track the rise in luteinising hormone (LH) in your urine. A result appears within minutes, and you can log results in the Camtech Health app to look across several days or cycles rather than reading one result on its own.
An LH surge suggests ovulation may be approaching. It does not guarantee that ovulation will occur or that conception will happen. The kit is not a test for infertility and must not be used as contraception. If your cycles are very irregular, painful or absent, or you have been trying to conceive without success, discuss this with a healthcare professional.6
“I want personal information about biological paternity”
Choose the Paternity Test for a personal, at-home test of biological paternity between you and a child. Results are available in about 3 weeks after you return your sample. The test is for personal information use only.
If the result is needed for a legal, immigration, court or official process, confirm the required chain-of-custody procedure before you buy. A personal home test may not meet those requirements.
“I want to understand my lifestyle traits and make more informed choices”
Choose one of the IDEAL DNA Wellness Tests when your goal is longer-term lifestyle insight rather than diagnosis or treatment. All four use a saliva sample collected at home, and your personalised report is typically available around three weeks after you return it.
IDEAL Health DNA Test is the broadest option, covering 56 traits across nutrition, fitness, skin and ageing, plus selected genetic risk scores. IDEAL Fitness & Nutrition DNA Test covers 35 traits across metabolism, body type, vitamin absorption, nutrient intake and selected fitness-related characteristics. Before You Order
- Check the purpose. Decide whether you need immediate information, routine screening, family-planning support, paternity information, or lifestyle insight.
- Check the sample and timing. Samples include a nasal swab, a self-collected vaginal swab, stool, urine or saliva depending on the product. Follow the supplied instructions for collection, storage, labelling and return.
- Check the turnaround. Rapid tests read in minutes. Laboratory tests range from 2 to 5 days for HPV, up to around three weeks for DNA wellness reports. Delivery and return shipping are separate from laboratory turnaround.
- Check the follow-up plan. Know what you will do if the result is positive, high-risk, abnormal, invalid, or negative while your symptoms continue.
- Protect your privacy. Review the current privacy notice and terms before you submit personal information or another person's sample, and obtain the required consent when testing someone else.
Important safety note
Home testing can make some forms of screening and health information more accessible, but it is not a complete health check. Do not use a home test to delay urgent care. Seek medical advice for severe or worsening symptoms, unexplained bleeding, persistent pain, significant changes in bowel habits, or any result that concerns you. Always follow the instructions supplied with your kit, because product details, availability and regulatory wording can change.
